MAIP and Eastman join the Italian ReGenesis project to recover unsold and waste and bring them back into the production cycle.
Ideated by Studio Lisa Tavazzani, the ReGenesis project aims to recover unsold goods and scraps from high-end manufacturing, transforming them into new resources to be reintegrated into production cycles by applying upcycling methods customized for each brand.
The initiative has also been joined by the American chemical group Eastman and the Turin-based compounder MAIP, in order to formulate new compounds and sheets derived from upgraded industrial waste and Acetate Renew, an acetate produced by Eastman from renewable sources and chemical recycling, offering performances equivalent to those of traditional acetate, already widely used in eyewear and luxury accessories.
The process, structured and sustainable, promotes a model of circular economy, keeping materials within a closed-loop cycle. Each phase is carefully monitored to guarantee transparency and reliability, supported by blockchain technology for traceability.
The collaboration with suppliers and industrial partners enables the provision of reliable recycling options to brands and luxury companies.
“By combining our expertise in advanced compounds with the innovation of our partners, we improve the quality of materials while offering a traceable and eco-sustainable solution, perfectly aligned with the values of luxury and sustainability,” comments Eligio Martini, CEO of Gruppo MAIP.
