Innovative composite material born from Lisa Tavazzani’s material experimentation. Created by embedding a PVC sheet within a PMMA matrix, the material features a controlled deformation process: the PVC, when subjected to thermal or chemical treatment, curls without tearing, generating a wave-like texture that runs throughout the thickness of the slab. This internal movement creates a fluid, textile-like effect, capable of diffusing light or adding visual depth and dynamic motion.
The final aesthetic recalls experimental textile design and evokes contemporary artistic influences such as Do Ho Suh, known for his translucent architectural structures made of fabric, or Samara Scott, whose layered installations incorporate plastics, fabrics, and pigments to form immersive, sensorial surfaces.
Ideal for lighting design—especially in its opaline version—or for furniture applications in greater thicknesses, the material combines technical performance with expressive visual identity, turning raw matter into a vibrant and poetic design element.
